Video display unitA video display unit (VDU) is any device that displays changing images (video). Well known as computer monitors, types also inlcude television and video monitors. Modern VDUs are now flat screen liquid crystal displays (LCD) or light emitting diode (LED) types and many bulky cathode ray tube (CRT) types are still in existance.

VitalIn signalling, the attribute vital has a special meaning: Where incorrect operation or failure may lead to personal injury or to damage of property or equipment.
