With Australian Rail Operators insisting personnel need to demonstrate their competence before being permitted to work on their rail systems, a need exists to develop a competent body of assessors to make valid judgements of competence. The Rail Assessor course addresses this need and is structured around the specific needs of Australian Rail Operators and their contracting suppliers.
The course has a blended-learning approach which consists of a combination of on-line learning, scheduled tutorial support, in-class learning activities and on-the-job practical assessment tasks (an in-class mode is also available). All work is done within the context of the client organisation.
This training directly addresses the new Cert IV TAE (TAE40116) Assessment Cluster competencies and is used by RTOs to assist in their provision of accredited training and assessment. As the course also addresses UK's TAQA Level 3 competencies, so it is also suitable for IRSE and Network Rail assessor training.
